TCB Good Luck Jacket

Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this Type II to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). In any case, please note that the length is intentionally short, and the chest and waist roomy, following the original 1880 design. As always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. This jacket is unsanforized but have been pre-washed, so there will be no further shrinkage.

TCB's quest to create a matching jacket for the Good Luck jeans led them to unique collaborations and intricate details. This denim jacket, based on a Boss of The Road piece from the early 1880s, features straight-line patterns, flat felled seams, and dart stitches for reinforcement. TCB replicated various elements, including button sizes and hand-sewn buttonholes, maintaining historical accuracy.

The jacket boasts extensive use of selvedge fabric, even in unexpected places like armholes and yokes, showcasing TCB's commitment to authenticity. They incorporated distinctive details such as rounded collars and careful stitching on the name tag. Additionally, TCB utilized a special washing process, deviating from typical hot water washing, to preserve the jacket's vintage character.

TCB's exclusive sewing thread, meticulously chosen with input from a thread expert, ensures an authentic look and fading. The jacket's buttons, constructed differently from modern designs, come in a three-part format, adding to its unique charm. TCB's dedication to detail extends to reproducing 150-year-old 2-by-1 fabric, likely of Indian origin, with irregular threads for a vintage appearance.

This reproduction reflects TCB's commitment to historical accuracy and craftsmanship, resulting in a denim jacket that pays homage to the past while embracing its unique character.

TCB (which stands for Two Cats Brand or Taking Care of Business) is a Japanese label founded in Kojima by Hajime Inoue in 2012. It specializes in reproductions of the classic American denim icons produced from the 1920s to the 1960s.
