The Cats Drive returns after about three years, and the change is in the yarn. The design itself stays where it was: a vintage denim jacket from a cowboy brand, dating from the late 1940s to the 1950s — made in an era when jeans were still tools for miners, farmers and every kind of worker, yet this one was drawn with a specific job in mind: riding a horse. That purpose shows in the cut, close through the body and shaped at the waist so nothing bunches in the saddle.

The fabric is where TCB has done the work. The original run used EMOT cotton — a blend drawn from East Memphis, New Orleans and Texas — with a 5.7-count warp and 6.7-count weft, engineered to produce the long, continuous fading lines that left-hand twill is known for. Watching that first batch age, the brand wanted the streaks longer still. So both warp and weft have been moved to a 6-count yarn, and the slubs have been lengthened, physically building more variation into the surface so that the fades run in elongated vertical streaks rather than short breaks. Same cotton, same twill direction, a different result in five years' time.

The name may be familiar, but this is not a reproduction of the last version — it is the Cats Drive rethought through the lens of TCB today. Made in Japan.

Fit Notes: TCB's sizing is vintage-true: a size 42 measures 42.5" in the chest, with a tapered waist and a fitted hem, so the jacket sits close to the body the way the original did. We recommend taking your usual Japanese size for the intended fit — a 42 corresponds roughly to an American M–L — or sizing up one if you prefer room to layer a sweater underneath.
