The UES Indigo Hoodie Sweatshirt is crafted from a distinctive Japanese-developed fabric that blends American and Mexican cotton with carefully selected cotton waste, intentionally incorporated to create a rough, textured surface full of character. The result is a fabric that feels organic, irregular, and authentically vintage—far removed from uniform modern knits.

Knitted on old-style circular machines, the fabric achieves a dense yet breathable structure with excellent body and resilience. The fabric is produced using a tubular construction with no side seams, enhancing comfort while preserving the integrity of the knit. The fabric is made intentionally thick, allowing the hood to be sewn cleanly and securely, resulting in a well-shaped, substantial hood that holds its form over time.

Color and texture are elevated through garment dyeing, followed by a bio-wash process that softens the fabric and creates a naturally worn-in appearance. This finishing method gives the hoodie a depth of color and handfeel that resembles a piece that has already been broken in through years of wear. The indigo tone is especially striking—deep, rich, and full of nuance—designed to fade beautifully and develop a unique patina with continued use.

Despite its substantial feel, the hoodie remains surprisingly lightweight, offering excellent warmth and wind resistance without feeling heavy or restrictive. Every detail reflects UES’s commitment to traditional Japanese craftsmanship, resulting in a hoodie that balances rugged texture, comfort, and long-term wearability.

Due to the garment dyeing process, this hoodie has a noticeable amount of indigo bleed, especially during the initial wear. Be mindful, as the color may transfer to lighter surfaces, so it’s best to take extra care in the beginning to avoid stains. Over time, the indigo bleed will reduce, leaving you with a beautifully unique piece.

Fit Notes: It tends to run a bit small compared to American sizing. Along with their Japanese sizing, so we usually suggest going one size up from your regular American size. If you usually wear a size M in American brands, you'll find a good fit with this hoodie in size 3 (L). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.
