The fabric used in this thermal is exceptionally thick and comfortable, boasting a 13oz. waffle knit crafted on vintage machines using robust and heavy yarns.
Although the cut is slim, it will adapt and conform to your body shape, ensuring a slim fit that's perfect for enhancing heat retention and regulating your body temperature. This heat retention capacity is comparable to that of top-tier technical shirts, with the added benefit of being crafted from 100% natural cotton. This UES hardy cotton thermal is a true embodiment of tradition.
UES thermals fit very similarly to their t-shirts. If you wear a size 3 in UES flannels, you'll find size 3 in the thermals to be a perfect fit. Similar to many other Japanese brands, UES tops tend to run slightly smaller compared to American sizing. In addition to their Japanese sizing, they offer a slim fit, so we typically recommend going up one size from your regular American size. If you usually wear a size M in American brands, you'll get a good fit with this shirt in size 3 (L). However, as always, we recommend referring to our size chart for the perfect fit.
UES is a small Japanese label founded by Chuji Matsumoto in 1994. UES comes from the English word "Waste", which means that Matsumoto-San wants you to make full use of each garment for as long as possible before discarding it. It is a small judgement of the concept of disposable wear that is so commonplace today in the world of fashion and from which Matsumoto-San disassociates himself completely.
